Sustainability at the University of Bern

The University of Bern plays an active role in researching, teaching and implementing sustainability principles. For example, it conducts excellent disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research with an international focus on topics such as climate, coping with global change (North-South) and the regulation of global trade (World Trade Regulation). It also examines topics such as biodiversity, resource research (in particular water and energy) and gender studies.

International networking

The University of Bern research centres that focus on sustainability are part of national and international networks, and their research enjoys an international reputation: Interdisciplinary Centre for Development and Environment Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research Network bringing together science, politics and business – the "Wyss Academy for Nature"

    The school holidays are almost over, so now we have time to get lost in our thoughts, daydream a bit and reminisce about the past. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing happening in March. There is a number of events in and around Bern that will make us think about the past with all our senses. Iconic events such as the Night of Museums will bring back many wonderful memories, you’ll be made aware of the uniqueness of films from the 90s, and well-known restaurants are reopened in new splendour.
