Carouge – Geneva
Overview
Intro
Carouge, the lively district in the south of Geneva, surprises with Mediterranean flair. Discover Sardinian architecture, art studios, a weekly market with a long history and a vibrant café and bar scene.
Carouge at a glance
The Carouge district is now part of Geneva, but was planned as an independent city by the Kingdom of Sardinia in the 18th century. The Arve River separates Carouge from Geneva city centre. The two-storey facades, the green courtyards and the checkerboard-like streets are part of Switzerland's national cultural heritage.
