Housed inside an iconic art nouveau palace, the Splendide Royal is a refined hotel with a familiar atmosphere where the grace of the 19th century blends with international contemporary flair. Its spectacular location and the support of a detailed service make the Splendide Royal the ideal place to organise events in an elegant and historic setting. Four conference rooms, each of which is filled with natural light, can accommodate up to 250 delegates. The Splendide Royal is the place to meet and celebrate, since events assume a special distinction - a grand banquet or less formal luncheon, private party, dinner or wedding. Whether for 4 or 250 people, the organisation combines detail and creativity to ensure that every function is well received and happily remembered. Stay in the heart of Lugano. The Splendide Royal, a 5-star hotel opened in 1887, exudes the charm of the turn of the century and is Lugano’s most elegant hotel, located on the main lakeside avenue. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout this entirely non-smoking property. The Splendide Royal Hotel delights its guests with elegant rooms, fine dining, and a staff of 100 who provide attentive, personal service. More than half of its visitors are regular guests. The hotel’s restaurant, I Due Sud, is headed by a chef whose cuisine—featuring traditional flavors from southern Switzerland and southern Italy—has earned 1 Michelin star and 16 Gault & Millau points. Dinner is served Thursday through Saturday (reservations recommended). The restaurant La Veranda (14 G&M points), open daily for lunch and dinner, offers Mediterranean dishes made with regional and seasonal ingredients. The Splendide Lifestyle Spa features a pool, sun terrace, fitness room, and a variety of saunas and steam baths. Beauty and cosmetic treatments are also available. Aperitifs and cocktails, along with an international selection of hors d’oeuvres and snacks, are served in the Belle Epoque Bar until 00:30. Parking is available in the garage or on the hotel grounds. The city center, with its boutiques, is just a few minutes’ walk along the lakefront.
Please note that the Ticino Ticket is included in the tourism tax. This allows you to enjoy benefits and discounts throughout the canton of Ticino, including free use of buses and trains. For further information, please contact your accommodation directly. The in-house restaurant serves dinner from Thursday to Saturday. Reservations are strongly recommended.
