Sustainability is a key concern in Davos Klosters – not least because the tourist destination is dependent on intact nature in the long term. The focus is on climate-neutral offers and effective sustainability measures on site. As part of MyClimate’s “Cause We Care” project, Davos Klosters has also been involved in the efforts to achieve climate neutrality and sustainability since the end of October 2019. Sustainability ranges from the choice of location to the supporting programme and local catering. At the Davos Convention Centre as well as in the Arena Klosters, emphasis is on sustainability. The numerous measures include:
- Use of local suppliers and seasonal products in catering
- Use of glasses and metal tableware instead of plastic alternatives
- Environmentally friendly waste disposal and recycling
- Solar power production on the congress centre roof, feeding into the public grid
- No air conditioning, as we cool with outside air
