Venue

Located on the southern slopes of the Rigi, high above the sparkling Lake Lucerne, the Gruebisbalm cave offers an original setting for galas, dinners and shows. From Vitznau on the lakeshore, trains on Europe’s oldest cog railway climb nearly 500 vertical metres in about 7 minutes to reach Gruebisbalm station. From here, a gentle 10-minute walk along an illuminated trail leads to the cave entrance behind a waterfall. Inside the cave is a small lake, and room to host buffet dinners with up to 400 guests seated at wooden benches and tables. Specialities include the Indian Cave Dinner, featuring delicious cuisine from the subcontinent; other Swiss and regional menus are also on offer. The stage can be used for dancing and entertainment: DJs, alphorn players, musical groups and performance artists can all be booked. The cavern can be decorated with flowers, and the lake illuminated magically with floating candles. The cave can be heated, but warm clothing is still recommended.
