The hotel is situated on Alp Handeck at the foot of the Grimsel pass. Never in their wildest dreams could the herdsmen and packhorse drivers of yore have foreseen this: life on “their” Alp Handeck is very comfortable today. Spread over three buildings, newly designed modern alpine-style rooms provide a restful getaway. Our adult guests will find relaxation in the well-being oasis, whilst the children let off steam in the large play area. In addition, our guests in the Handeck Nature Resort will have very good reason to smile, while bathing in the heated outdoor pool. The Grimsel scenery at Grimselworld is a real tonic – from secluded spots by the water to vertical adrenaline rushes. After a long hike you can look forward to a superb evening meal in the elegant restaurant or the cosy parlour.

On the way up to the Grimsel mountain pass, the Hotel Handeck lies like an oasis in the midst of an alpine world. As a first class nature resort, the hotel is the ideal starting point for hikes and mountaineering tours, as well as for adventurous rides on the Gelmer funicular - the steepest funicular in Europe - or for crossing the spectacular Handeck waterfall swing bridge. The best road connection from Basel/Zurich is in direction Lucerne, then Brünigpass, then following the „Grimselpass“. From Berne you drive direction Interlaken and then also following „Grimselpass“. The journey lasts approx: - 200 Min. from Zurich - 80 Min. from Lucerne - 90 Min. from Berne - 200 Min. from Basel Please pay attantion that the Grimsel- and Sustenpass are open only from end of May to end of october. By train: From Interlaken and Lucerne you have direct train connections to Meiringen.
