How did you end up in Switzerland?
Based on our clients’ requests, our agency always tries to think outside the box and take a different approach while minimising risks, of course. Thanks to the initiative and recommendations of the Switzerland Convention Bureau office in Paris, we put together a programme in Switzerland, a country that our agricultural co-operative had not yet visited, which really appealed to them. Switzerland is an unusual destination, often recommended for executive committees or high-end winter incentive trips. In this case, however, we proposed the country for a bespoke four-day, three-night business trip, with arrival in Basel and departure from Geneva.
Switzerland offers the chance to get off the beaten track
What are your thoughts on Swiss hospitality?
We travelled through both German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. In both regions, we were made to feel very welcome. The high standards and professionalism were evident, which was much appreciated. Every professional we met shared a love for the region and its local produce. We also really appreciated the free public transport in the city, which any traveller can use as soon as they spend a night in a hotel. This means, for example, that you can travel from the station to the hotel by tram with your luggage, without a second thought. It avoids unnecessary waiting times and means visitors can start exploring the city straight away. It was a great initiative, and our customers are more than happy to use public transport in situations like this!
