Inleiding

Het traditionele gebouw is sinds 1906 in familiebezit en het is het enige hotel met een eigen ondergrondse parkeergarage en tuin met zwembad in het historische centrum van de stad. Het ligt direct aan de boulevard langs het meer. International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel werd door de ICOMOS-jury van de UNESCO in 2007 onderscheiden met de eretitel «historisch hotel» en staat tegenwoordig onder monumentenzorg. Hoewel het telkens weer aan de behoeften van de gasten aangepast en gemoderniseerd werd, heeft het hotel niets van zijn historische charme verloren.

Family-run since 1906, it is the right hotel for holidays or for business trips, and is the only hotel on the lake promenade in the centre of Lugano, with own indoor parking, restaurant, meeting room, garden with swimming pool and terrace. WiFi Internet hot spot, an Internet workstation and an "Ethernet" connection for notebook computers are available free of charge at our Internet corner. The ICOMOS jury has granted our hotel with the eminent UNESCO award "Historic hotel with honor".

Beschrijving

Hotel International au Lac is a historic, family-run hotel in the centre of Lugano, directly on the lakefront promenade, at the beginning of Via Nassa and next to LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura. Opened in 1906 and still managed by the founding family, it combines authentic Belle Époque charm with modern comfort.

The hotel offers a large private garden with an outdoor swimming pool, a rare oasis in the city centre, and its own underground garage with 36 parking spaces and EV charging stations. Several rooms feature balconies with views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains.

Guests particularly appreciate the central lakeside location, attentive service, cleanliness and comfort, as well as the hotel’s distinctive historic atmosphere.
