Each course participant can create his own watch with the help of the master watchmaker of Initium in Le Noirmont.

The watchmaker's art is a closely-guarded secret. Enter the fascinating world of miniaturised mechanisms, the symbol of Swiss expertise around the world with the help oft the master watchmaker who shares experience gained with the region's foremost manufactures. For a few enthralling hours, it is possible to become a watchmaker and produce his own mechanical watch.

Make your own mechanical Swiss watch in a Swiss watchmaking factory in the heart of the Jura mountains

Get to know the fascinating world of mechanical watchmaking with Initium. A master in watchmaking will teach to the ins and outs of a mechanical watch mechanism. Armed with screwdriver and tweezers you feel the heart of the watch that you are creating.

There is room for up to 12 people in the shop and there are different types of programmes from a simple introduction to watchmaking (1.5 to 3 hours) up to the full assembly of a watch (1/2 to 1 day). The participants chose their own components from a number of Swiss watch mechanisms as well as high-quality housings, dials, hands, and armbands.

You also have the option to take a course in a related craft, such as hand chamfering or engraving.

Costs: CHF 350 or with the watch CHF 1'490 (1/2 day) or CHF 2'290 (1 day).
