Historic documents and parchments in the archives of Le Pâquier confirm it: the village smithy definitely dates from the second half of the 18th century. Like many houses in the village, it burnt down in 1770. Since the 1980s, the smithy has come to life again, thanks to a generous foundation. There are guided tours and demonstrations of the blacksmith's work (on request).
